On Saturday 8th March 2025 a group of Elders from Amersham Free Church travelled over to St Margaret's and St George's Church (URC and Moravian) in Harlesden, North London. We joined The Revd Edwin Quildan, its Minister, and a group of their Elders. We came together for a training day with The Revd Dr Julian Templeton, Training and Development Officer with The Thames North Synod of the URC. Throughout the day we thought of issues such as What is an Elder? What are our responsibilities? What part does Data Protection play in our dealings? How do we offer Pastoral Care? It was a super day of fellowship and sharing and very worthwhile.
On Sunday 2nd March 2025 our two churches, St Margaret's and St George's URC and Moravian Church, Harlesden, North London, and Amersham Free Church, exchanged ministers.
The Revd Edwin Quildan from Harlesden came and preached at AFC, assisting The Revd Erna Stevenson with Communion. Whilst The Revd Ian Green, and Beverley Underwood, our Church Secretary, visited Harlesden.
During the service at AFC we also had a visit from Duncan Duason MBE whos spoke to us about March's Mission Offering for Street Kids Direct.
