Lunchbreak - Thoughts for Lent - 20th March Hazel Richardson writes: 'The original idea came from a huge sculpture on the wall close to the entrance of Ely Cathedral - something that I used to look forward to looking at every time I was in Ely. It's called "The Way of Life" and it felt quite an appropriate image for the Lent Thoughts. The Ely sculpture doesn't have any candles or light or anything beyond the cross, but I felt I wanted to add that bit on as my own thing. The pieces of sea glass that made the pathway to the cross were collected from the shore beside the Priory on Lindisfarne last summer, when we were on the COTHA retreat/holiday.' |
